Robert Millet-

Different experiences require different prayers.  Not every prayer is an Enos experience.  The fact that they are in scripture shows they are the exception, not the norm.

"I know we're going to be back late tonight, so I just wanted to say my prayers, so I'm not too tired."

Prayer of Faith
Isaiah 38:1 In those days was aHezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.
  2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the Lord,
  3 And said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
  4 ¶ Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying,
  5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will aadd unto thy days fifteen years.

Why did Hezekiah weep?  It wasn't that he was afraid of death.  Maybe there were other things he wanted to do.

David O. McKay- Spirituality is the consciousness of victory over self, the consciousness of being above the passions, whether in anger or jealousy, or envy, or hatred. (Last talk at general conference.)

Hezekiah had a confidence that he had pursued the proper path.  Has a feeling of victory over the flesh.

God changes his mind.  He changed his mind with Hezekiah.

Luke 6:12 And it came to pass in those days, that he awent out into a mountain to bpray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
  13 ¶ And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he achose btwelve, whom also he named capostles;

Jesus spent all night praying to prepare to call his apostles who he would spend the next 3 years traveling and serving with.
If we think he prayed a lot in the New Testament, go to 3rd Nephi.  He's always praying in 3rd Ne.

When the man brings his son with the evil Spirit to Jesus, because the apostles can't cast out the spirit, Jesus says this only comes out by fasting and prayer.
Fasting is one way we seek for remission of sins and seek for spiritual power.

Luke 22:
  44 And being in an aagony he prayed more earnestly: band his sweat was as it were great drops of cblood falling down to the ground.
  45 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
  46 And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

Even Jesus had times, where his prayers weren't the same.  In Gethsemane, He prayed more earnestly.

Spencer W. Kimball, when he was called as an aspostle, in 1843, he said he wrestled for 85 days in prayer for a blessing (from his first Oct. conference)

3 Ne 17: 14 And it came to pass that when they had knelt upon the ground, Jesus groaned within himself, and said: Father, I am atroubled because of the wickedness of the people of the house of Israel.
  15 And when he had said these words, he himself also aknelt upon the earth; and behold he bprayed unto the Father, and the things which he prayed cannot be written, and the multitude did bear record who heard him.
  16 And after this manner do they bear record: The aeye hath never seen, neither hath the ear heard, before, so great and marvelous things as we saw and heard Jesus speak unto the Father;
 17 And no atongue can speak, neither can there be written by any man, neither can the hearts of men conceive so great and marvelous things as we both saw and heard Jesus speak; and no one can conceive of the joy which filled our souls at the time we heard him pray for us unto the Father.
