gift of Holy Ghost

We are given the gift of constant companionship when we are confirmed. But this constant companionship comes from our constant commitment to follow Christ, which we renew every Sunday. So, we can be confirmed and loose the constant companion if we are not continuing to make that commitment constantly. And I believe that a person who has not received the gospel yet, who is truly trying to commit to Christ can still have the constant companion.

Instead of things being black or white, right or wrong, it's more whether something is going to help you on the path or potentially remove you from the path. It's so easy for us to label things as good and bad and to tell ourselves "Oh, no we can't do that. That's bad. But do we really understand "what" is bad? It's not the action that is bad, it the moving away from Christ that is bad. Who cares about what the sin is. Not that I'm trying to minimze sin, but whether it's adultry, stealing, swearing, drinking, pride, not prayying, etc. the ONLY problem with these is they pull us away from our progression to Christ. Now when you have a sin against another person like abuse, adultry, stealing, etc. These are more difficult because we have not only pulled us away from the path, but most of the time, we have also pulled another person away from their path. So if we want to make restitution, it's not just restoring what we broke or stole, it's apologizing for our part in taking that person away from their path to their Heavenly Father.

How we're the same.

How many times have you heard someone say I know this talk was meant for me. Isn't it amazing that one talk can influence so many. It makes me think that we must not be as different as we think if we think the same message is meant for us.
